Terms of Service

1. About the Service
Rapt is a minimal writing app built for Threads. It is developed and operated by 카인드닷츠 (KIND_DOTS, the “operator”), and is not affiliated with Meta (which operates Threads) or with any other company or institution.
2. Accounts
Rapt does not create accounts of its own. No sign-up and no sign-in are required to use the app.
Using the Threads publishing feature does require connecting your own Threads account (see section 5), but that is optional. Every writing feature works without connecting it.
3. Ownership of Your Content
You hold full copyright in everything you write in Rapt, including post bodies and threads. Rapt does not collect or read what you write, and claims no rights whatsoever in the content you create.
Your writing leaves your device and your own iCloud only when you run one of two features yourself: spell checking and Threads publishing. When you run a spell check, the text is sent to the checking service to the extent the check requires. The details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
4. Storage and Sync
What you write is stored locally on your device and synced, through your own Apple iCloud account, to your other devices signed in to that same account. Apple’s iCloud terms apply to the storage and transmission that happen in the course of that sync.
Rapt keeps no server that stores your writing, and the operator cannot access your writing, including what is in iCloud. Apple keeps and protects what is stored in iCloud. The relay server used for spell checking and for connecting a Threads account only forwards requests and does not store their content (see section 3 of the Privacy Policy).
5. Publishing to Threads
You may connect a Threads account to Rapt and publish what you have written directly from the app. Connecting an account is optional; you may instead use only the character count and copy features and post from the Threads app yourself.
When you publish, the selected writing is posted to your Threads account, and publishing cannot be undone — to remove a post you must delete it in Threads. You may disconnect the account from inside the app at any time.
Content posted to Threads is separately governed by the Threads (Meta) terms of service. Rapt is not affiliated with Meta or Threads, and is not responsible for publishing that fails or stops because of policy changes or outages in the Threads service.
6. Limitations and Disclaimer
Rapt is an app developed and operated by one person, and the software is provided “as is”. The possibility of unexpected errors, abnormal termination, or data loss cannot be entirely ruled out, and you are encouraged to keep separate backups of writing that matters to you. The operator compensates for damage it causes you intentionally or through gross negligence. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for data loss in features provided free of charge, or for damage caused by outages or policy changes at outside services such as Apple, Meta, Baikal AI and Cloudflare.
7. Use of the Apple Platform
Rapt is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple’s terms of service apply alongside these terms to downloading, installing, and updating the app. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your license to the app; where it differs from these terms, whichever is more favorable to you applies.
8. Copyright and Use Restrictions
Except where otherwise indicated, the operator holds copyright in Rapt’s interface design, logo, and code. You may use what you write with Rapt for any purpose, personal or professional. What is prohibited is copying, redistributing, or selling the app itself (its code, design, and logo) without the operator’s consent, and reverse engineering except where the law permits it.
9. Changes to These Terms and to the Service
Rapt is an app run by one person. Feature changes unfavorable to you, or ending the service, will be announced at least 30 days in advance on this page and in the app’s update notes. If a feature stops for a reason that cannot be foreseen, such as a problem at an outside service, you will be told as soon as the operator learns of it. When these terms change, the changes and their effective date will be posted on this page at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to you).
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising in connection with use of the service will be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
