Rapt Terms of Service

These terms describe the app as it is currently built: storage on the device plus sync through the user's own iCloud, with no accounts and no payments. If features such as in-app purchases are actually introduced, the relevant clauses will be updated at that time. These terms may continue to change as the service does.
This English text is provided for the reader's convenience. The Korean version is the governing text.
1. About the Service
Rapt is a minimal writing app built for Threads. It is developed and operated by an individual, and is not affiliated with Meta (which operates Threads) or with any other company or institution.
2. Accounts
Rapt does not create accounts of its own. No sign-up and no sign-in are required to use the app.
Using the Threads publishing feature does require connecting your own Threads account (see section 5), but that is optional. Every writing feature works without connecting it.
3. Ownership of Your Content
You hold full copyright in everything you write in Rapt, including post bodies and threads. Rapt does not collect or read what you write, and claims no rights whatsoever in the content you create.
Your writing leaves your device only when you run one of two features yourself — spell checking and Threads publishing. The details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
4. Storage and Sync
What you write is stored locally on your device and synced, through your own Apple iCloud account, to your other devices signed in to that same account. Apple's iCloud terms apply to the storage and transmission that happen in the course of that sync.
Rapt operates no server of its own, and no third party — the operator included — can reach your writing, including content passing through iCloud.
5. Publishing to Threads
You may connect a Threads account to Rapt and publish what you have written directly from the app. Connecting an account is optional; you may instead use only the character count and copy features and post from the Threads app yourself.
When you publish, the selected writing is posted to your Threads account, and publishing cannot be undone — to remove a post you must delete it in Threads. You may disconnect the account from inside the app at any time.
Content posted to Threads is separately governed by the Threads (Meta) terms of service. Rapt is not affiliated with Meta or Threads, and is not responsible for publishing that fails or stops because of policy changes or outages in the Threads service.
6. Limitations and Disclaimer
Rapt is a project developed and operated by an individual, and the software is provided “as is”. The possibility of unexpected errors, abnormal termination, or data loss cannot be entirely ruled out, and you are encouraged to keep separate backups of writing that matters to you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rapt and its operator are not liable for data loss or other damages arising from use of the service.
7. Use of the Apple Platform
Rapt is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple's terms of service apply alongside these terms to downloading, installing, and updating the app.
8. Copyright and Use Restrictions
Except where otherwise indicated, the operator holds copyright in Rapt's interface design, logo, and code. Reverse engineering, redistributing, or commercially exploiting the app in whole or in part — beyond personal use — is prohibited without prior consent.
9. Changes to These Terms and to the Service
Rapt is a project run by an individual, and the service may change or be discontinued without prior notice. These terms may likewise change from time to time as the service is improved; when they do, the updated text and its effective date will be posted on this page.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising in connection with use of the service will be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
